The Source Proposal was one of three finalist proposals presented to The Public, a museum in the United Kingdom. The Source installation creates an extended interactive experience for visitors to The Public. Source links the Profiling Stations, Waterfall, Content Pools, and visitor’s data bodies.

At the profiling stations, visitors enter a wish and a hand drawn icon which are stored in their data body. At the projected Waterfall, Source creates the playful and magical illusion that visitors can literally ‘throw’ wishes from their data body into the water. At the Content Pools visitors interact with floating wishes thrown by other visitors, reading these wishes and attaching words of inspiration to them.

The Source proposal includes options for unique physical output at the Editing Stations, and a networked ‘local content pool’ where community members can voice opinions on local issues. These options provide exciting opportunities to extend visitor experiences beyond the walls of The Public’s building.
